Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, journalist Ian McGarry has shared an update about Everton and Rafa Benitez.
Rafa Benitez is the new Everton manager, whether you like it or not, and as with any incoming manager, the Spaniard has been given some assurances after joining the club.
Indeed, according to McGarry, Benitez has been assured that he will be given money to spend to renovate the squad however he, and Marcel Brands, see fit.

McGarry gave the inside scoop on Benitez’s appointment and the promises he has been made.
“Benitez becomes only the second manager to coach both Liverpool and Everton, and it is our understanding that he has been given guarantees about investment in the club and spending. There was a meeting between Benitez and his representatives with Moshiri, Bill Kenwright and Usmanov in London on Monday.
“Also we understand that Benitez spoke to his predecessor, Ancelotti, to ask what it had been like to manage the Merseyside club, which was a positive conversation.
“Ancelotti didn’t fulfil expectations, but at the same time he was given freedom in regards to the transfer market, and Benitez has been assured that he will have money to spend to improve the squad ahead of next season.”

While Everton fans may not love the idea of Benitez managing their club, there has to be a level of excitement about a potential spending spree this summer.
The Spaniard has links to some of the biggest clubs in the world, so his contact book is surely brimming with top-class names.
Who will Benitez sign at Everton? Well, it remains to be seen, but it looks as though Farhad Moshiri may not hold back when it comes to spending.
