Everton playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson has yet to live up to his billing.

Everton playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson has told the Daily Star that his move to Goodison Park has not gone to plan after the club’s terrible start to the campaign.
The Toffees decided to splash the cash on a host of new signings over the summer, with the likes of Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane and Davy Klaassen all arriving in big-money deals.
However, Everton then broke their transfer record in order to sign Swansea City’s Sigurdsson, with BBC Sport reporting that the fee involved was around £45million.

With nine goals and 13 assists in the Premier League last season, Sigurdsson was seen as a major signing and a potential creative force for Everton, but his start to life at Goodison Park has been a struggle.
The Icelandic international has yet to register a single goal or assist for Everton in the Premier League this season, and is currently looking like something of a flop for the Toffees.
There is still plenty of time for Sigurdsson to turn things around, but his poor start to the season has fans concerned that he could be a waste of money – and Sigurdsson himself has offered a frank verdict on his season so far.
Sigurdsson, as quoted by the Daily Star, has suggested that his move is ‘not going as hoped’ so far, both personally and for the team as a whole.

Everton have lost four of their first eight league games this season, and could only draw 1-1 at Brighton on Sunday, and Sigurdsson desperately wants Everton to win – no matter how ugly it may be.
“It is not going as I hoped. No, of course not,” said Sigurdsson. “For the team as well. Personally and collectively we are just off our best. That is reflecting in individual performances. But it’s small margins. I don’t think we’re a mile off getting results. A couple of scruffy wins would bring some confidence to the team and that’s sometimes all you need.”
“The next game is the most important one. We just need to win. Once we do that the confidence will come back into the team and things will become a bit easier for us. We just have to work our way through this. We are not scoring enough goals and we are conceding too many, I don’t think we are too far away but things just aren’t clicking,” he added.
