Speaking to Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen, Pontus Jansson has given his view on how he feels about Leeds, almost two years after departing the Yorkshire club.
Jansson was once an absolute fans’ favourite at Elland Road, but after a reported falling out with Marcelo Bielsa, he left Leeds in acrimonious circumstances.
The centre-half has been enjoying his time at Brentford so far, but he says that the Whites still hold a special place in his heart.
“To be completely honest, I miss Leeds and love Leeds, but I’m in a place in life where I’m incredibly happy with where I am now at my new club and how appreciated I am there“, Jansson said. “But it is clear that I miss Leeds, my team-mates and the club,”
“You who follow them know that it was something special. I will love Leeds for the rest of my life and follow them. I have a pretty close relationship with many of the players, I still often talk to Andrea [Radrizzani].”

Jansson misses Leeds, and to be fair, we can’t blame him.
The defender was adored by the fans during his time in Yorkshire, and while Brentford are a good club to play for, the passion and adulation you receive from their fanbase isn’t on the same level you’re likely to get at Elland Road.
He’s clearly still got a lot of close friends at Leeds, and he’s even in touch with the chairman.
Hopefully, Brentford and Jansson are in the Premier League next season and Jansson will get the ovation he deserves when he comes to Elland Road.
