Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was announced that Derby had been plunged into administration.
What’s the story?
Well, this is a feeling Crystal Palace fans know all too well.
Derby have been docked 12 points, which takes them bottom of the Championship, after losing £20m in revenue over the pandemic.
As reported by the BBC, Derby Chairman Mel Morris claims he has lost over £200m through owning the Rams.
Derby are over £50m in debt, and the club is at real risk of extinction unless somebody comes in and saves them.
Crystal Palace found themselves in the exact same situation back in 2010, and were just hours away from being wound up as a business.
However, a consortium named CPFC 2010 including four supporters – led by Steve Parish – swooped in at the last hour to save the club they love.
Hopefully, the same can happen to Derby.
Crystal Palace are a beacon of hope for Derby

At this moment in time, Derby fans will feel absolutely crestfallen and helpless about this situation.
It’s probably not what they’d want to hear at this moment in time, but the Rams can look at Crystal Palace as an example of life after administration.
After saving the club, CPFC2010 adopted a five-year plan to navigate them to becoming a healthy football club again.
Some shrewd signings were made – not least Yannick Bolasie for £350,000 – and the Eagles actually earned a premature promotion in 2013.

Now, the south Londoners are flying in the Premier League, and can afford to pay Wilfried Zaha an eye-watering £130,000-a-week.
This isn’t to be boastful. It’s merely an indicator that things aren’t over yet for Derby, as bleak as they may seem right now.
Let’s see what the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter have been saying about Derby’s announcement…
