Johan Djourou has posted ‘let’s go’ on Granit Xhaka’s Instagram post after the Arsenal man returned to training.
The 28-year-old had to self-isolate after testing positive for COVID-19, which also meant the currently suspended Arsenal star had to miss international fixtures.
But Xhaka stated on Instagram ‘It feels good to be back’, as he posted a picture of himself on the Arsenal training pitch.
Even though the £30 million player (Sky Sports) is kicking a ball again, Mikel Arteta can’t select him because of his sending off against Manchester City before the international break.
That first-half tackle from Xhaka saw him receive a lot of stick from the Arsenal faithful, as his side went on to lose 5-0.
In truth, the Gunners were in for a beating during that game, it’s just a case of Xhaka’s actions making matters worse.
But, in the meantime, with Thomas Partey also returning to action during Arsenal’s 1-0 win against Norwich last time out, it allowed Arteta to play Albert Sambi Lokonga, alongside Ainsley-Maitland Niles in the middle of the park.
That probably isn’t his preferred midfield pairing because Partey gets ahead of them both.
It’s just a case of who sits alongside the Ghanian in the deeper role, many fans would probably point towards a Lokonga because he has had a strong start since his summer move.
But Arteta will probably pick Arteta because he has been a regular under the Spaniard.
Either way, after picking up their first win of the season over the weekend, it’s a trip to Turf Moor on Saturday for the North London club, and this fixture is one that isn’t always pleasant for them.
