Winston Reid of West Ham United looks dejected against West Bromwich Albion
West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has taken to Twitter to send a message to fans after the club’s 0-0 draw at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.
The Hammers went into the game with confidence having picked up their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield Town last Monday, but their away form was still a cause for concern.
Defeats at Manchester United, Southampton and Newcastle United had given West Ham a nightmare start to the season, and they needed a better performance on the road as they travelled to West Brom.
Slaven Bilic, Manager of West Ham United
Slaven Bilic’s men couldn’t find the breakthrough going forward, but did keep it tight at the back as they came away with a 0-0 draw, handing them a second straight clean sheet.
It’s another step in the right direction for West Ham, as they have stopped leaking goals, and becoming more solid on the road will help Bilic drag the club away from the bottom three.
Right now, West Ham sit 17th in the Premier League, out of the relegation zone on goal difference but still level on four points with 18th placed Everton, meaning there is still plenty of work to do.

Earlier this evening, West Ham co-chairman David Gold took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the club’s situation, admitting it ‘feels better’ to be out of the relegation zone.
Gold added that there is still a lot to do in order to really climb up the table, but West Ham fans may be breathing a little easier after coming out of the bottom three this weekend.
