Jose Mourinho has suggested to TalkSPORT that it makes no sense to start Tottenham Hotspur target Ben White at Euro 2020.
The Daily Mirror suggest that Tottenham are interested in landing the Brighton & Hove Albion defender, who has forced his way into Gareth Southgate’s plans recently.
White’s form has been highly impressive, with his display against Romania seemingly convincing Southgate that he could have a role to play.
Spurs are also said to be admirers of the 23-year-old’s talents.
But Mourinho insists that he shouldn’t be drafted straight into England’s team, even with Harry Maguire’s fitness in doubt for Southgate’s side’s opener against Croatia on Sunday.
He said: “The kid from Brighton for me is a very good player, but he has just arrived and it doesn’t make any sense to go direct [and start him].”

Too expensive for Spurs?
If White does have a strong European Championships there is no telling how high his price tag could go.
The Mirror already say he is valued at £50 million already, which may leave him out of Tottenham’s price-range even at this stage.
Spurs are thought to be on the hunt for a central defender this summer though, and Mourinho will know the exact reason why.
Spurs failed to find a settle pairing at the back all season, with the likes of Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez all starting on different occasions.
