Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, Martin Keown has been discussing Arsenal and their lack of goals in 2022 so far.

The London club have been poor in front of goal since the turn of the year. They scored against Manchester City on New Years’ Day, but from the on in, the goals have dried up.

Gabriel Magalhaes’ goal against Wolves on Thursday was the Gunners’ first goal in over a month, and that’s an issue that needs addressing quickly.

What’s Keown said?

The Arsenal legend is concerned about Arsenal’s lack of goals.

“It does worry me that with Aubameyang, when he lost the captaincy I was fearful that we would lose the player as well. If you look at the last few games, we didn’t score against Burnley, we didn’t score against Forest, the two games in the League Cup against Liverpool, we didn’t score in those either. There’s an issue right now in trying to score goals. I assume that he’s spending the time on the training ground trying to solve that,” Keown said.

Worrying

Arsenal were back to scoring ways against Wolves on Thursday, but it still wasn’t the most convincing of attacking performances.

The Gunners’ goal came from a corner and was scored by a centre-back, while Alexandre Lacazette continued to squander chances up top.

Mikel Arteta needs to help his players rediscover their shooting boots, because this is becoming concerning.
