The former Derby County and Aston Villa striker, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, believes that Cook going back to Leeds would work for the Whites.
According to The Daily Star, the Whites are interested in re-signing the 23-year-old from Bournemouth this summer.
Leeds, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship, sold the young midfielder to the Cherries in 2016.
Bent said on talkSPORT (5:34pm, August 23, 2020): “I like Lewis Cook. He is a very, very good player. He knows Leeds. He has been there. He is a Leeds United supporter, so I think it does work as well.”
The talkSPORT pundit added: “I do like him as a player, but I really like what Leeds United are doing down there.”
Back to Leeds United?
Cook is a very good central midfielder who would make Leeds stronger in the middle of the park.
The England international has earned valuable experience in the Premier League, and with Bournemouth relegated to the Championship, the 23-year-old might want to return to Elland Road.
Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa has improved Kalvin Phillips a lot over the past two seasons, and he could make Cook into an even better player.

Robin Koch future
Another player who has been linked with Leeds this summer is Robin Koch, with The Sun reporting last week that head coach Bielsa is ready to pay £20 million to bring the 24-year-old Germany international defender to Elland Road.
Freiburg left-back Christian Gunter has suggested that his teammate Koch will leave the club this summer.
Gunter told Kicker: “We have a good, talented squad, and if the majority stay together, we have a really good team, but we may still need one or the other across the board as Robin should still be leaving.”
Meanwhile, according to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 61, August 23, 2020), Huddersfield Town head coach Carlos Corberan wants to sign Pascal Struijk and Robbie Gotts on loan from Leeds United in the summer transfer window.
