Ian Wright thinks Tottenham could be the ones to cause the upset that derails Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes.

The former striker added that Tottenham’s visit to Anfield next month could be a ‘tricky one’ for Jurgen Klopp’s side, as he told Premier League Productions (20/04/22 at 10:25 pm).

Spurs, under Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte, have beaten Manchester City, both home and away this season.

Added with that, after the north London club returned from their COVID outbreak in December, they recorded a pulsating and fast-paced 2-2 draw at home against Liverpool.

With only one point separating current leaders Man City and those in red, Wright feels that Tottenham’s visit could prove to be the nerve-racking of them all.

“I think that Tottenham game for Liverpool looks a tricky one,” said Wright. “You don’t know what Tottenham are going to turn up.

“If any team can cause them problems, then it could be a Tottenham.”

With Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski in attack, Liverpool’s high-line is going to be targeted.

Klopp’s aggressive system suits what Conte wants, which is for his team to sit back and then exploit the space that is left behind the opposition’s defence.

Of course, it’s not easy sitting back and withstanding constant pressure from this free-scoring Liverpool side.

But, just like the reverse fixture, it wouldn’t be a surprise if this game ends with goals galore.
