Speaking on the Gaffer YouTube channel, Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe has been raving over Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.

Eze was of course released by Arsenal as a youngster, so Smith Rowe may know him well from his time with the Gunners as well as their time together with the England youth teams.

Smith Rowe was asked if there were any young players he’s come up against, and he said Liverpool’s Curtis Jones and Palace’s Eze.

What’s been said?

Smith Rowe said he’s been impressed by Eze.

“Eze as well, he’s silly, he’s silly bro. It all looks too easy for him man,” Smith Rowe said.

“Eberechi, he’s a baller, I see him and he just picks up the ball and gets past everyone, it looks like you can stop him, but obviously you can’t,” the channel’s host said.

Arsenal’s mistake

The Gunners have made a number of blunders when releasing players over the years, such as Harry Kane, but it seems as though Eze will go down as another high-profile error.

The 22-year-old has had an incredible debut season in the Premier League, and his pace, creativity and flair is exactly what Arsenal need right now.

The Gunners may go out and buy a new number 10 this summer with the likes of James Maddison and Martin Odegaard linked, but perhaps they wouldn’t need a new attacking midfielder if they hadn’t let Eze go when he was younger.
