Mikel Arteta has spoken to the media about an alleged training ground incident involving Arsenal stars Dani Ceballos and David Luiz.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein revealed that Luiz had scratched Ceballos on the nose after an altercation between the pair, which drew blood from the Spaniard.
When asked about the incident, Arsenal’s official site quote Arteta as saying: ‘Training is very competitive and issues happen a lot of the time, but those things get resolved immediately within the team. There’s not much to say.’
After Ornstein’s revelation, Ceballos himself took to Twitter to describe the news as ‘fake’.
However, the fact that Arteta didn’t deny the alleged incident like the on-loan Real Madrid man did suggests, in our view, that something happened.

If Ceballos was involved in a coming together, it wouldn’t be the first time this season that he has upset one of his teammates.
Before Arsenal’s first Premier League game of the season against Fulham, the attacking midfielder was filmed coming to blows with Eddie Nketiah in a warm-up session.
We’re not keen to make assumptions based on any player’s character, although it is intriguing to see the 24-year-old involved in multiple incidents within the space of a few months.

It will be interesting to see if anything else happens between Luiz – who cost Arsenal £8 million – and Ceballos over the course of the next few weeks.
It’s definitely one for Arteta to keep an eye on, that’s for sure.
