West Ham United have been extremely busy during this summer’s transfer window.

For the first time in a very long time, West Ham fans are full of hope and excitement ahead of the new Premier League season, with Manuel Pellegrini at the helm, and some top class players being linked with the club.
The Hammers have already signed Issa Diop from Toulouse for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £22 million, and it now appears that they are on the verge of bringing in another centre-back.
The east London outfit have agreed a fee with Brazilian club Corinthians for Fabian Balbuena, according to Paraguayan media outlet ABC, and the prospect of having the Paraguayan lined up alongside the Frenchman this season will surely be a tantalising one for West Ham fans.
Every Love Island contestant if they were an England player – World Cup!
Diop, 21, and Balbuena, 26, are both extremely talented central defenders and seemingly have the all of the attributes required to be a success in the Premier League.
The Hammers have really struggled defensively over the past few years, and with James Collins now gone, Winston Reid suffering with injuries and Angelo Ogbonna on the wrong side of 30, an injection of both quality and youth into their defensive ranks was much needed this summer.

And it seems to be an area of Pellegrini’s squad that he is looking to address before the new season begins.
Diop and Balbuena would be an excellent central defensive partnership, and if West Ham manage to finalise a deal for the latter, they will head into this season’s Premier League campaign looking very strong in every department.
