Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has shared what he knows about Jude Bellingham and Liverpool.
It was reported earlier this week by The Athletic, that the Reds may have an edge in the race to sign Bellingham due to the fact he’d spent a few days in the Liverpool academy as a youngster. However, Bailey has done some digging and he’s found that this is not the case.
Indeed, the journalist claims that his past affiliation with Liverpool will have no bearing on his decision next summer, stating that he knows exactly what he’s doing and will have his choice of clubs next summer – including Real Madrid.

Liverpool don’t have an edge with Bellingham
Bailey dispelled this myth about Bellingham.
“He hasn’t chosen to move to Liverpool yet, but I did read a piece today that intonated that the fact that he spent a few days there as a child is playing a part in this, I can confirm that isn’t the case,” Bailey said.
“He’s sensible, he knows what he’s doing, he knows he’ll have his choice of clubs next summer, including Real Madrid who do like him, they love him. They all do, every club that can afford him wants him.”
Bellingham’s big decision
Jude Bellingham has an absolutely gigantic decision to make next summer – perhaps the biggest decision of his life, so why would he base this choice on a few days in Liverpool when he was just a kid?
He may well end up joining Liverpool. After all, the Reds are keen admirers and one of the best teams in the world, but this decision won’t be about some sort of loyalty he feels towards the Reds due to a trial he had almost a decade ago.
Bellingham can join pretty much any club he wants, and he needs to consider his next move very carefully.
