Newcastle United need Rafael Benitez to stay, as his reported transfer plans look very exciting.

According to L’Equipe, Newcastle United are in the race to sign Ismaila Sarr from Rennes this summer and he would be a wonderful addition.

Newcastle are said to be considering breaking their transfer record on Sarr, if Rafael Benitez stays on.

There are no guarantees that Benitez will commit his future to Newcastle, but if he does and then is able to bring in Sarr then it would be a cause of massive celebration at St. James’ Park.

Sarr has the potential to make a huge difference to Newcastle’s team, if he does join, as his blistering pace would make them a major threat.

The prospect of having Miguel Almiron and Sarr charging down either flank is a tantalising prospect for Newcastle fans, even though it seems a long way off right now.

Benitez appears no closer to penning a new contract at St. James’ Park, and his departure would be a huge blow to the Tynesiders.

But if Newcastle can keep Benitez and then add Sarr to their squad then this summer could yet be a very positive one for them.
