Hearts striker Isma Goncalves hopes Jamie Walker to stay put amid interest from Rangers.

Hearts striker Isma Goncalves reckons that it will be almost impossible for the club to find another player like Jamie Walker.

Walker is one of the highly talented wingers in the Scottish League, and has attracted strong interest from Glasgow Rangers.

Rangers have had three bids rejected for the 24-year-old winger who scored 15 goals in all competitions last season – including 12 in the Scottish Premier League.

According to The Scottish Sun, the Jambos are looking to offer Walker a bumper deal to convince him to stay put.

However, the same publication reports that Rangers are preparing a fourth bid for the attacking midfielder, and club teammate Goncalves doesn’t want him to go.

The 26-year-old striker has been enjoying teaming up with Walker during pre-season, and says the club will struggle to find someone to fill his boots if he switches to Ibrox this summer.

He says Walker is a “big player” for the team, and it will take a lot of money to find an able replacement.

“I hope Jamie stays because he is a big player for us and he can help us a lot and we can do good things,” says Goncalves, as quoted by The Scottish Sun.

“I don’t think we will find another player like him if he leaves us. Myself, Kyle and Cole will do our best but it will take a lot of money to bring in a replacement for Jamie.

“If he leaves at the end of next month it will be impossible to find another player like him or near to him, so it would be good if the club fixes this situation with Jamie so we can go forward.

“It would be a big boost for the club and the fans if he stayed. The fans love him, everyone loves him here and he is a big player for us.”
