Tottenham attacker Christian Eriksen is in demand.

According to Marca, Real Madrid will try to tempt Tottenham Hotspur into a Christian Eriksen for Gareth Bale swap this summer.

Spurs midfielder Eriksen is out of contract in 2020, leaving Tottenham with a dilemma.

There are problems for Tottenham with regard to Bale. He is on high wages, he is 30 this summer, and he is not a natural replacement for Eriksen, leaving the team unbalanced.

Change Bale to Real teammate Isco instead, and now you have the perfect option.

Isco is a player Mauricio Pochettino admires greatly. He hailed him as a ‘magician’ ahead of their Champions League matches in 2017, AS reported.

Spain's midfielder Isco celebrates after scoring a goal during a friendly football match between Spain and Argentina at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on March 27, 2018.

The Spain international would be a more natural replacement for Eriksen in midfield, and he earns a more palatable £120,000 a year compared to Bale’s £350,000 (via Total Sportek).

Isco is three years younger than Bale, turning 27 in April.

The Spain international looks ready for a new challenge, having started only five La Liga games this season.

If Tottenham are pressed into cashing in on Eriksen by the player, his agent and Real, then Isco is the player to target, not Bale.
