Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool will both be looking to add more star quality to their teams this summer in a bid to challenge for honours.

Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are arguably two of the most attractive teams to watch in the Premier League behind champions elect Manchester City.

But both clubs have fallen short once again when it comes to challenging for the Premier League title.

Spurs may yet lift some silverware in the form of the FA Cup while Liverpool must navigate past City to keep their Champions League dreams alive.

Both sides have been slowly but surely adding quality to their ranks over the past two seasons with additions such as Lucas Moura and Virgil van Dijk.

So with a finite number of top class stars available for transfer in world football it is inevitable that Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp will be competing for the same players.

Isco of Spain celebrates after scoring his sides third goal during the International Friendly between Spain and Argentina at Wanda Metropolitano on March 27, 2018 in Madrid, Spain.

And that appears to be the case with Real Madrid star Isco, who has been repeatedly linked with the Reds and Spurs over the past 18 months.

So comments from the Spain international which suggest he is looking to leave Madrid will offer huge encouragement to both clubs.

“In Madrid, I don’t have the confidence a player needs, ” Isco said in a post-match interview after scoring a hat-trick for Spain in a 6-1 win over Argentina, as reported by Sky Sports.

“The matches with the national team give me life. Here, I have the confidence of the coach. I want to show that I’m a good player. Lopetegui shows me confidence with the minutes he gives me.

Zinedine Zidane, manager of Real Madrid speaks during a press conference ahead of their UEFA Champions League Group H match against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium on October 31, 2017...

“Maybe I’m the problem in Madrid. I don’t know how to win Zidane’s confidence.”

In light of recent transfer fees the diminutive star would undoubtedly set either club back a sizeable fee.

Spurs will be looking to make a statement in their first season at their new ground while Liverpool will see Isco as the ideal replacement for Philippe Coutinho.
