Isco is reportedly ready to leave Sevilla just months after the Spanish international left Real Madrid to sign for the La Liga side, with Newcastle United missing out on the playmaker.

According to Relevo, the five-time UEFA Champions League winner already wants an exit from the Andalusian club following an argument with sporting director Monchi earlier this month as well as the departure of Julen Lopetegui, who was dismissed by Sevilla in early October.

With the Spanish giants sitting in an astonishing 18th place, Sevilla are in a dark place right now that very few supporters would have predicted at the start of the season. And for Isco, the former Newcastle target is now ready to leave the club in the January transfer window.

AS reported in the summer that Eddie Howe’s side were one of many interested in signing Isco when it became known that the former Malaga star was leaving Madrid at the end of his contract. However, it was Sevilla who ultimately won the race for the attacking midfielder.

Indeed, with Isco now ready to leave Sevilla, there’s every chance that Newcastle could come back in for the former Madrid star. However, based on the midfielder’s form this season, Eddie Howe would be wise to stay clear of the 30-year-old in the January transfer window.

After all, Newcastle’s transfer strategy has been very clear since the PIF takeover and the appointment of Howe, and whilst Isco does have a lot of qualities that would be appreciated at St. James Park, the Magpies know there are better options out there in the market than the Sevilla star.

The upcoming January window feels like a real opportunity for Newcastle to make a statement in the market, with Howe’s side sitting third in the Premier League standings and having a real shot of qualifying for the top-four if they get their business in the winter market spot on, which is why Isco shouldn’t be a target.

After all, the midfielder is clearly in need of something new in his career, and whilst the Premier League would be a fairytale move, Isco might be in need of something slower than the English top-flight, with a lesser European league or MLS a real possibility for the 30-year-old.
