Tottenham Hotspur lost Gavin Bazunu to Premier League rivals Manchester City but could now sign another exciting young goalkeeper instead.
Tottenham Hotspur failed to sign a single new player in the summer transfer window and even a little-known teenage goalkeeper seemed to slip through their grasp.
According to Fædrelandsvennen, the highly-rated Norway youth star Isak Middtun Solberg had a trial with the North London giants in July with his manager at FK Bryne, Even Sel, confirming that the shot-stopper was under consideration by the Premier League giants.
The reports have grown cold over the last few months but Solberg’s father has now admitted that the deal is certainly still alive.
Speaking to Aftenposten, Thomas Solberg said: “I can confirm that Isak has been offered a three year contract starting next summer. A decision will be taken next year.”
Remarkably, Solberg stands at 6ft 3ins already despite being short of his 16th birthday and he made his debut for Bryne at the age of just 14.
Should a move to Tottenham come to fruition, he will play for an academy which has spawned the likes of Harry Kane, Kyle Walker-Peters and Harry Winks in recent years.
Spurs would be very happy to bring in Solberg after missing out on another exciting young goalkeeper in September.
According to The Telegraph, Tottenham made a number of bids for Shamrock Rovers’ 16-year-old starlet Gavin Bazunu but the Irish wonder-kid will instead join Manchester City for £420,000.
