Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak has told the club’s official website that he spoke to Emil Krafth before he moved to St. James’ Park.

Premier League club Newcastle have announced the signing of Sweden international striker Isak from La Liga outfit Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window.

As stated on the Magpies’ official website, the 6ft 4in striker has signed a long-term contract.

Isak has said that he spoke to Newcastle right-back Krafth before he made the move to the Magpies.

Isak told Newcastle’s official media channel about Krafth: “I’ve spoken a bit to people I know that’s been around the club, and Emil, who is in the club right now.

“Yeah, they only had good things to say about the club, the fans and the city. So that was positive, of course.”

Good signing for the Magpies

In our view, Alexander Isak is a good signing for Newcastle United and will make Eddie Howe’s side better.

The striker is only 22, and he has already played for some big clubs in and around Europe.

Isak also did well for Sweden at the Euro 2020 finals.

Now, of course, we must consider the fact that Isak is only 22, so we should give him time and room to adjust to the Premier League at his own pace.

But, in our view, Isak will eventually come good and be a star for Newcastle.

Isak scored one goal in two La Liga matches for Sociedad so far this season.

The Swede scored six goals and gave two assists in La Liga in 2021-22, and scored 17 goals and provided two assists in the league in 2020-21.
