Aston Villa are said to be targeting the signing of Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden.

Isaac Hayden’s addition at Aston Villa would make them a force to be reckoned with, as he could add tough-tackling and dynamism to their midfield ranks.

According to the Daily Mirror, Villa are looking to bring in Hayden from Newcastle United, as the midfielder wants a move away from St. James’ Park.

Villa would only be able to take Hayden on loan, but he could be a great addition to Steve Bruce’s squad.

The claret and blues have already brought on John McGinn this summer, and the Scottish midfielder’s all-action on debut impressed against Wigan Athletic.

New signing John McGinn of Aston Villa poses for a picture at the club's training ground at Bodymoor Heath on August 08, 2018 in Birmingham, England.

McGinn is a strong competitor and alongside Hayden, the pair could form one of the most fearsome midfield pairings in the division.

Villa certainly would not be losing a physical battle with Hayden and McGinn breaking up oppositions attacks in the centre of the pitch.

And if Bruce can bring Hayden in, then Villa fans should be excited about the potential to see the Newcastle man at Villa Park.
