Speaking on The Beautiful Game Podcast, Isaac Hayden has been full of praise for his former manager Rafa Benitez and his ability to stay calm in stressful situations.

Benitez was Newcastle’s manager from 2016 to 2019, and it’s fair to say that he was incredibly popular on Tyneside.

The Spaniard managed to get the Magpies promoted and keep them in the Premier League before he had to walk away from the job.

Fans loved Benitez, and it seems as though Hayden feels the same about his former gaffer, stating that he was ‘unbelievable’ as a coach.

What’s Hayden said about Benitez?

Hayden was full of praise for the 61-year-old.

“For me, Rafa Benitez was unbelievable for me personally and for a lot of the lads and the club. It was never too high and it was never too low, we could have won three or four in a row and everyone is getting overly happy, but he was always the same. He would never be too happy when we won or never too sad when we lost,” Hayden said.

Everton in safe hands

Everton fans aren’t best pleased with Benitez at the moment, and to be honest, we understand why.

The Toffees haven’t been great this season, but, while it’s easy to point the finger, it’s not entirely Benitez’s fault.

The Merseyside club have been ravaged by injuries to key players, and while this season may not go to plan, what they now need to do is stay calm and regroup, and it seems as though Benitez is the perfect man for that particular job.
