Celtic wanted Isaac Brizuela, says the winger.

Isaac Brizuela has suggested to Medio Tiempo that he is open to joining Neil Lennon’s Celtic.
The 29-year-old winger has also claimed that Celtic tried to sign him when he was at Toluca.
The Mexico international was on the books of Toluca from 2007 until 2015 when he moved to Chivas for a transfer fee reported by The Scottish Sun to be worth £5 million.
Brizuela has said that Celtic made an approach for him when he was at Toluca, and he has suggested that he is open to joining the Glasgow giants in the future.
Brizuela told Medio Tiempo, as translated by The Scottish Sun, regarding Celtic’s interest: “I heard the rumours but I didn’t want to think about them too much and distract myself.
“In the end, I don’t know if they (Celtic) spoke to (Toluca) director, but when I was in Toluca they approached me but the club didn’t let me go because Celtic didn’t want to pay Toluca’s asking price.
“Being here in Chivas I don’t know if anyone has come over but I won’t give up hope. I know that I have a certain age, but I won’t give up hope that such a moment will come.”

Future Celtic move?
Although Brizuela is a very good winger and has a lot of experience, it is hard to see Celtic make a move for the Mexico international in the January transfer window.
That’s because the Glasgow giants have quite a few wingers who are very good, and the Hoops do not need another player for that position.
With James Forrest, Scott Sinclair, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Daniel Arzani, Lewis Morgan and Michael Johnston in the squad, there is really no space in the squad for another winger.
