The Tottenham midfielder has missed the majority of the season through injury.

With the January transfer window rapidly approaching, there is much speculation about potential new arrivals at Tottenham Hotspur.
One player who has been linked with a move to the club is Geoffrey Kondogbia, with Tottenham interested in signing the Valencia midfielder, as reported by Sky Sports.
The report indicates that Kondogbia is seen as a potential replacement for Mousa Dembele, who has struggled to produce his best form so far this season.
However, another Tottenham player could see his playing time restricted should the move for Kondogbia go ahead.

Victor Wanyama has been unavailable for most of the campaign due to injury and Tottenham have struggled to find the correct blend in midfield while he has been out.
If Kondogbia did join then the Frenchman would provide top quality competition in the central midfield role, and he can comfortably fill in in the defensive position – where Wanyama is already battling Eric Dier for a place in the side.

Wanyama has much to offer Tottenham with his energy and timely interceptions, but his spell on the sidelines has seen the Londoners suffer, and could well prove costly to him too as it has led the club to consider other midfield options, such as Valencia’s impressive French powerhouse.
Kondogbia is slightly quicker than Wanyama and could offer Tottenham more dynamism in midfield, which could well help their overall performances.
Wanyama will hope to be back available soon and will also want the January transfer window to pass without Tottenham bringing in another midfielder.
