Demarai Gray reportedly looks set to stay at Leicester City despite interest from Spurs and a lack of game time at the King Power Stadium.

Less than a week ago, Demarai Gray made his frustrations at Leicester City painfully clear.
“You saw I am frustrated at the amount of football I am getting”, the 21-year-old told The Mirror after a difficult start to the season that saw him fail to start any of The Foxes three Premier League fixtures. And his public plea did little to change Craig Shakespeare’s team-selection, with Gray once again left on the bench for Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Chelsea.
Therefore, you could have forgiven the England Under-21 star, who also only started nine Premier League games last season, for considering his long-term future at the King Power Stadium – especially after Bournemouth made a £25 million deadline-day bid (The Mirror).

However, instead of angling for a move away in search of more game-time, Gray surprisingly looks set to commit his future to Leicester. The Telegraph report that he is set to sign a new £50,000-a-week contract.
Committing his future
And, with The Mirror claiming that Tottenham Hotspur have been interested for quite some time, you wonder whether he will rue that decision. After all, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has quite the history when it comes to getting the best out of young English talents.
Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Danny Rose, Eric Dier and Kieren Trippier have all become England regulars since the Argentine took over in North London back in 2014. And Spurs appears an excellent fit for Gray, a player blessed with natural pace, creativity and technical ability.

On the other hand, however, The Telegraph adds that Leicester are willing to double Gray’s weekly wages as a show of faith in their younger winger. Shakespeare, meanwhile, is insistent that the former Birmingham City talent has a ‘big future’ at the club.
Only time with tell whether Gray deciding to stay at Leicester, rather than pushing for a move to Spurs, was the right decision.
