Is time running out at Leeds United for Caleb Ekuban?

Caleb Ekuban hasn’t been blessed with good luck since joining Leeds United.
The 23-year-old striker signed for Leeds in a £500,000 deal from Chievo Verona last summer but has been unable to show the Elland Road faithful what he can do.
One big reason for that is fitness, with the Italy-born marksman only managing 11 Championship appearances this season due to two separate injuries which kept him out for a total of five months.
He’s been unlucky, but it seems possible that the West Yorkshire side could offload him this summer if he doesn’t have a goal-laden end to the campaign.
In addition to the injuries, there is also a question mark over Ekuban’s ability in the Championship, having failed to score in any of his 11 league games.
Five of those were starts which came under Thomas Christiansen but, despite posting a series of energetic performances, he missed a number of clear-cut chances to get off the mark.
An argument could be made over keeping Ekuban in spite of his injury woes if he had the potential to be a big player in this division, but the fact that he hasn’t done wonders even when fit might make Director of Football Victor Orta get rid of him this summer.
