West Ham United are a difficult proposition for any side in the Premier League when they can field their strongest team.
West Ham United have endured a difficult start to the Premier League season with a win and two defeats from their first three games.
The Hammers seem to struggle for consistency because with everyone fit and available, they have a side which can beat any other team in the division.
We’ve attempted to name West Ham’s strongest team with everyone currently injured considered fit and ready for action.
GK – Adrian
He’s been one of the most consistent players in the team since he got a chance at the club.
RB – Joey O’Brien
A solid full-back who is capable of doing the no nonsense basics in the back four as well as providing width going forward.
CB – James Collins
One of the most experienced players in the team and a player who ensures West Ham’s defence doesn’t get bullied.
CB – Winston Reid
A versatile defender who was reportedly coveted by Arsenal over the summer.
LB – Aaron Cresswell
Signed from Ipswich Town and injected straight into the team. He should get better over the course of the season.
RM – Stewart Downing
On his day, Downing can win games on his own. A solid Premier League winner.
CM – Mark Noble
Passes the ball effectively and gets stuck in when he has to. Unlucky to have been overlooked for the latest England squad.
CM – Kevin Nolan
The leader in the team and the player who grabs the side by the scruff of the neck in big games.
LM – Matt Jarvis
Provides pace and a direct threat down either side of the pitch. Capable of drawing fouls in key areas and providing chances.
ST – Mauro Zarate
Clever enough to drop off and into a number ten role if he needs to.
ST – Andy Carroll
When he’s fit and in form, he’s a difficult striker for any defence to play against. Capable of battering sides into submission.
