West Ham United have been making all the headlines this week after replacing Slaven Bilic with David Moyes.
West Ham are languishing in the Premier League relegation zone after Bilic oversaw a terrible start to the new season which has yielded just two wins from 11 games so far.
Bilic was sacked on Monday and former Sunderland, Manchester United and Everton boss Moyes was named as his replacement on Tuesday.
The appointment has not gone down well with Hammers fans who feel it lacks ambition and could actually make them worse.
Bilic only had six months left on his West Ham contract and many cited that as one of the main reasons for players taking their foot off the pedal.
Speculation has suggested Moyes has only been given the same amount of time to prove he is the man for the job.
Moyes hinted on talkSPORT the contract situation suits both parties, saying: “We are all comfortable with it.
“Let’s get the job done and then talk at the end of the year.”
However, the club has rather tellingly failed to reveal the length of contract in any of its official communications.
And that suggests owners David Sullivan and David Gold were all to aware of the malaise that had kicked in amongst the players knowing Bilic was off in the summer.
This way it keeps everyone on their toes and will not give players an easy excuse not to put the hard graft in for Moyes as he could well be the manager long-term.
