The Reds are poised to sign a new goalkeeper according to the Nottingham Post.

Nottingham Forest hope to sign a new goalkeeper on Monday, according to the Nottingham Post.
However, the identity of said shot-stopper remains a relative mystery, with as many as three prospective candidates listed in the report. A recent development from Italy, though, could provide the biggest clue yet.
Calciomercato reports that Fiorentina are closing in on the signing of Rennes’ number 1 Benoit Costil for €1 million (£860,000), with a medical scheduled for later this week.

What does this have to do with Nottingham Forest, I hear you ask? Well, according to the Italian website, the 29-year-old’s addition has been prompted by the poor form of Romanian international Ciprian Tatarusanu – one of the trio named in the Post’s report.

Though linked with a move to the City Ground on social media over the weekend, Tatarusanu’s arrival was deemed unlikely by the Post, due to him being Fiorentina’s first choice between the sticks. Should Costil’s move go through, however, that may not be the case for very long.
Of course, we could be putting two and two together here – however, do not be surprised if you see a 6ft 6in Romanian wandering through Nottingham this week.
