Newcastle United have a side which can compete against any team in the Premier League.

Newcastle United are still searching for their first Premier League win of the season after two draws and a defeat from the club’s opening three games.

Alan Pardew needs his side to kick into gear quickly and start climbing the table if Newcastle don’t want to get involved in a scrap at the wrong end of the table during the first half of the season.

We’ve taken a look at Newcastle’s squad and have attempted to name the side’s strongest eleven with everyone fit and available.

GK – Tim Krul

Newcastle know exactly what they’re going to get from the Dutchman on a weekly basis.

RB – Daryl Janmaat

One of the club’s summer signings. He looks well suited to the pace and style of the English game.

CB – Mike Williamson

A towering, no nonsense type of defender who is also a threat in the final third at set pieces.

CB – Fabricio Coloccini

One of the most experienced defenders in the Premier League and a key component of the back four.

LB – Massido Haidara

Joined the club in the winter of last year. Has finally secured a regular starting position for himself in the first team and provides balance to the back four.

RM – Remy Cabella

An attacking player who can play a wider role from the right hand side. Another summer arrival who has looked promising.

CM – Cheick Tiote

A midfielder who does the dirty and gritty work in the middle of the team.

CM – Jack Colback

Already popular with Newcastle fans for joining from local rivals Sunderland. He definitely has a big future in the English game.

CM – Siem de Jong

The most advanced of the central midfield players. He can control that space in behind the main striker.

LM – Moussa Sissoko

We’ve put Sissoko on the left for the sake of getting him in the team. His pace on the counter attack is frightening.

ST – Emmanuel Riviere

He will get better with more games. His pace, movement and strength have all looked relatively decent over the first few games of the season.
