Manchester United nowe have a very strong starting eleven as they look to break the Premier League’s top four.
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal will be pleased with the summer business he’s done but he’ll now be mulling over how to fit so many creative and attacking players into one team.
United have endured a tough start to the new season but with more squad additions and plenty of time between matches, United are going to be a very difficult team to face up against for the rest of the season.
The question on the lips of many United fans is what’s United’s best eleven at the moment? We’ve had a go at working that out.
GK – David De Gea
The unrivalled number one at the club.
CB – Phil Jones
Jones just to the right of a back three, covering on the right hand side.
CB – Jonny Evans
Settled in the middle of the back three.
CB – Marcos Rojo
When he can finally play, he’ll probably settle on the left of the back three with his experience of playing at left-back doing him some good.
RWB – Antonio Valencia/Rafael
It’s a toss up between Valencia and Rafael. Neither are the perfect defensive players but Valencia has the edge going forward.
LWB – Luke Shaw
When Shaw is fit, he’s the ideal player to have on the left. Good defensively and talented going forward.
CM – Daley Blind
Blind will probably play as the deepest of three central midfielders. He’ll be the ball winner.
CM – Ander Herrera
Herrera is the player who can sit in the middle of the team and pull the strings, controlling possession and the pace of the play.
CM – Angel Di Maria
United paid big to get him and he looked threatening at times against Burnley. Expect him to improve throughout the season.
ST – Wayne Rooney
Rooney will most likely feature in attack because he has that ability and discipline to drop off into midfield.
ST – Radamel Falcao
Falcao’s job is simple; cause chaos up top and score goals.
