Everton have a squad capable of doing extremely well in the Premier League this season.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez did some great business during the summer transfer window.
The club secured some excellent players in their quest for Champions League football and they have started the season in decent shape despite a big defeat to Chelsea in their last game.
We’ve attempted to name Everton’s strongest side with everyone available.
GK – Tim Howard
The American is one of the most consistent and experienced players the side has available.
RB – Seamus Coleman
The right-back is arguably the best in his position in the Premier League. He’s effective at either end of the pitch.
CB – Phil Jagielka
A consistent player for Martinez’s team and a regular in the England national setup.
CB – Sylvain Distin
Distin is another very experienced player in the Everton defence. He’s capable of playing in a number of ways.
LB – Leighton Baines
Baines is one of the best left-backs in the division. His ability in terms of dead balls and set pieces is superb.
RM – Kevin Mirallas
The Belgian is a great player to have down either side of the midfield and is capable of also playing centrally.
CM – Gareth Barry
Barry sits in the middle of the team and cuts off the angles, making it difficult for the opposition to move the ball around quickly.
CM – James McCarthy
McCarthy is a box-to-box type of player who gets stuck in and works hard regardless of whether his team are on top or behind.
AM – Ross Barkley
There’s a reason several reports have suggested teams could pay £50 million for Barkley. He’s a huge talent and Everton have done well to get him committed to a long contract.
LM – Aiden McGeady
McGeady has been in good form over the start of this season and seems to be relishing his role on the left.
ST – Romelu Lukaku
The Toffees paid big to make sure they signed Lukaku on a permanent basis. If Everton make the top four, he’ll have a lot to do with it.
