This Arsenal side could win any game against any opponent this season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger oversaw a strong transfer window at the club, making the key signing of Danny Welbeck from Manchester United late in the transfer window.
The Gunners have a very strong and well balanced squad, short in one or two areas, but capable of winning major pieces of silverware over the course of this season.
Following the transfer window, we’ve attempted to name Arsenal’s strongest eleven.
GK – Wojciech Szczesny
Until David Ospina puts the Pole under some serious pressure, he’ll stay as the number one.
RB – Mathieu Debuchy
The French right-back has done a great job since coming in to replace Bacary Sagna.
CB – Per Mertesacker
He does exactly what his presence promises; leads and defends with common sense.
CB – Laurent Koscielny
The Frenchman injects some pace into the back four and reads the game extremely well.
LB – Kieran Gibbs
When fit, Gibbs is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League. He’s great on the counter and his defensive game continues to improve.
RM – Theo Walcott
Walcott will be pushing for a starting place when he’s back to full fitness. His pace makes him a difficult player for the opposition to get to grips with.
DM – Mikel Arteta
The Spaniard controls games very well. He’s a far grittier player than many give him credit for and he leads effectively.
CM – Aaron Ramsey
Arguably the best box-to-box midfielder in the Premier League.
AM – Mesut Ozil
Ozil can destroy teams single handed. He’s not been on top of his form so far this season but he definitely gets into the team.
LM – Alexis Sanchez
Sanchez off of the left hand side will be a nightmare for any team. He’s also proven he’s versatile and seems to be growing in confidence.
ST – Danny Welbeck/Olivier Giroud
Welbeck’s pace and movement arguably makes him more suited to this Arsenal side than Olivier Giroud. However, the Frenchman continues to grab key goals.
