Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after Der Westen shared an update on Ozan Kabak’s situation at Schalke 04.
What’s the story?
Well, the German news outlet believe that Kabak will now be available for significantly less money.
That is down to Schalke 04’s handing of the situation.
Der Westen claim that Schalke 04 had planned to put all negotiations regarding Kabak on hold until after EURO 2020.
That was because they hoped he would shine on the European stage, and ramp up his value in the process.
However, the plan has backfired tremendously.
What happened at EURO 2020?

Turkey crashed out of Group A after losing all three of their games, scoring once while conceding eight goals.
That would’ve been disastrous even if Kabak had been involved. However, Senol Günes didn’t give him a single minute of action.
Now, Schalke 04 have resumed negotiations with those interested in the 20-year-old, in a much worse negotiating position.
Given their desperation for cash, Der Westen say Schalke 04 could now lose him for much less money.

Some Liverpool fans below have been wondering whether Michael Edwards saw this coming, hence why he didn’t choose to activate Liverpool’s £18 million option to buy Kabak.
It’s unlikely, although Edwards has made a number of smart moves in the past, so who knows what his thinking was.
For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the Kabak rumour…
