Leeds United clearly need to show more fight.

Leeds United’s run of poor form has left fans questioning players and staff after they slid down to 10th place in the Championship table.

The Whites had been in first place in mid-September, but have since lost seven of their last nine games.

One of the most concerning elements of this has been the lack of fight from the team.

This has been highlighted by a statistic uncovered by Opta showing that Leeds are the only team in three Football League divisions not to pick up a single point after they have fallen behind.

With 71 of 72 teams doing just that, the statistic is reason for Leeds to be embarrassed.

Successful Leeds teams are associated with grit, and willingness to battle. It is one of the reasons why the combative Pontus Jansson has become such a fan favourite.

But something has been missing over the past two months, and if Leeds go behind to Middlesbrough, fans will fear it is all over.

If they come from behind and even snatch a draw it will feel like a bit of an achievement, although Leeds will hope it does not come to that.
