Spanish website Fichajes claims Napoli want to sign Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, but that would probably require another major deal to take place.
Rumours linking Napoli with Mario Balotelli seems pretty far-fetched, but if the Serie A side lose Josè Callejon they may turn to the Liverpool man.
Balotelli’s nightmare start to life at Anfield has led to speculation that he could be pushed towards the door sooner than anyone could have expected.
The Italian international has been goalless and much maligned for Liverpool, but he remains a tantalising talent who is wanted by many top coaches who believe they can turn him around.
According to Spanish website Fichajes, Napoli boss Rafa Benitez is one of those coaches and he is looking at the possibility of bringing Balotelli to the Stadio San Paolo.
That eventuality seems pretty remote, but it is possible that Napoli may need a striking reinforcement should star man Jose Callejon be tempted away.
The Spanish winger / forward has been lethal so far this season and it is reported in Italy that Atletico Madrid are determined to sign him.
If Callejon were to leave, Napoli would try and replace him immediately and Balotelli may be on the radar, but at present it seems somewhat unlikely, especially given Balotelli’s desire to leave Italy last summer.
