It’s quite rare to see anybody tower above Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk, let alone a mythical entity.
But the big Dutch centre-back was dwarfed by a certain Easter Bunny on Sunday, going by the photo that he uploaded to Twitter.
Van Dijk, who hasn’t played for Liverpool since October due to injury, uploaded a seasonal snap of himself standing beside a noticeably-taller figure in a bunny costume.
At 6’5, it’s quite a feat – pun intended – to make Van Dijk look smaller than he is, but the mystery man in the suit certainly succeeded, albeit with the aid of the ears.
Here’s how some Liverpool fans responded to the 29-year-old on social media:
Jokes aside, it’s good to see Van Dijk cutting a happy figure.
There hasn’t been many reasons for the former Southampton stalwart – or Liverpool fans – to smile during what’s been a very poor season.
The Premier League champions are 25 points behind run-away leaders Manchester City and their domestic campaign is now all about winning a spot in the top four.
But Jurgen Klopp’s side are still in the hunt – again, pun intended – to win the Champions League and there’s a mouth-watering quarter-final clash with Real Madrid to come tomorrow.
