England are worried about Harry Kane’s fitness – is Spurs’ reliance on the striker hindering his country?

Kane suffered ankle ligament damage during the 4-1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth in March, yet despite an initial predicted layoff of six weeks the striker was back in action for Spurs after just three.

Since returning, the 24-year-old has scored three goals in six matches in all competitions, but there has been criticism of his overall performances and especially during the 2-1 FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester United the forward looked some way off the pace.
Repeat of Euro 2016?
There are now concerns from the Three Lions camp that Kane, widely considered the nation’s one genuine world-class player and the talisman of the team, will now not be fully fit at the World Cup.

This was also argued following the country’s exit from Euro 2016 following a 2-1 last-16 loss to Iceland, a tournament in which the Tottenham star failed to register a single goal on the back of playing 50 games in a bumper campaign for the North Londoners.
Spurs have long struggled to find adequate backup for Kane upfront and could the reliance on their topscorer be hindering England as a direct result?
