Sandro has been linked with a move away from Everton but recent quotes from a Spanish director suggest the Toffees aren’t willing to part company with him.

All the signs point to a mid-season exit from Everton for summer signing Sandro.

The 22-year-old attacker has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League following his £5.2 million switch from Malaga.

Sandro, a former Barcelona product, hasn’t started a league game for Everton since September and has scored once across 13 appearances in all competitions.

BBC Sport reported this week that the Toffees’ hierarchy would listen to offers for the out-of-sorts forward.

There have also been links with a return to Spain, with former club Malaga and Celta Vigo said to be interested.

But Felipe Minambres, Celta’s Sporting Director, revealed to AS that he isn’t getting the impression that Everton are willing to let him leave.

He told AS: “At this moment in time, Everton are not conveying a message that they are open to the player leaving.”

Sandro hasn’t started a game in any competition since Sam Allardyce took over early last month and it seems unlikely that will change for the moment.

But if what Minambres says is true then the Goodison Park side plan on keeping him.
