Rangers are reportedly still keen on signing Ryan Kent.

Ryan Kent #40 of Liverpool handles the ball during a pre-season friendly against Sevilla at Fenway Park on July 21, 2019 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Rangers are still keen on signing attacker Ryan Kent, The Daily Record reported last night.

Its understandable, after a terrific season for Kent on loan at Ibrox last season.

Kent did not even make Liverpool’s under-23 side last night as confusion continues over his future.

Now Rangers have have offered a sign they are hopeful over a deal.

Rangers announced today they are loaning out young winger Josh McPake to Dundee.

Ryan Kent of Liverpool during a pre-season friendly match between Tranmere Rovers and Liverpool at Prenton Park on July 12, 2017 in Birkenhead, England.

This could help clear the path for Kent to move to Ibrox.

Rangers certainly are not short of wingers, and if they wanted one more, it would have been an easy decision to promote McPake.

Amid reports from The Record that Rangers still want Kent, loaning out McPake makes even more sense.

The McPake and Kent situations may not be connected. But there remains a chance they are.

Kent is a player who is more ready to contribute to Rangers’ team now, and he would become one of the team’s most important players.

Rangers are smart to continue interest. He’s good enough to be worth it.
