The Rangers youngster will be hoping to catch his new manager’s eye between now and the end of the campaign.
New Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has a lot of work to do now he has hit feet under the desk at Ibrox, but while this season is all about focusing on the players currently at his disposal he is also likely to cast an eye over the Gers players out on loan.
After all, before he draws up a wish list of summer transfers, Caixinha needs to know what he has for the here and now and what he can have next season.
Of all Rangers’ current loanees teenage striker Ryan Hardie may have the best chance of forcing his way into Caixinha’s first-team plans as early as next season.
The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Championship side Raith Rovers, for whom he has scored 10 goals in two temporary stints.
Hardie’s recent brace in a 2-0 victory against St Mirren cast him in the role of super sub at the perfect time, with Caixinha likely to be looking closely at all Rangers’ prospects in the coming months.
Hardie already has two goals in 10 first-team appearances for Rangers and it may not be long before he adds to that tally. A strong end to the season at Raith will certainly hope in that regard.
