Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers offloaded Joe Dodoo on a season-long loan this summer.

Rangers fans could be forgiven for forgetting about Joe Dodoo.

After all, the 23-year-old striker has only made two appearances – both cameo outings in the Scottish Cup last season – for Rangers since May 2017.

The former Leicester City talent, who was signed by then-Gers boss Mark Warburton two years ago, endured a horrendous loan spell at Charlton Athletic in League One last season.

And is history about to repeat itself for the young Rangers attacker?

Dodoo returned to the Scottish club – then managed by Graeme Murty – in January after being an unused substitute in no fewer than nine consecutive games for Charlton last season.

He is now back in League One with Blackpool on a season-long loan but the early signs are ominous.

The Ghana-born forward, who managed only nine senior matches for the whole 2017-18 campaign, started the Tangerines’ first couple of games but he has been an unused substitution in their last two outings.

Dodoo has a ways to go before he equals the nine-match record he set with the Addicks, but already it looks like he has to win over the manager’s affections again.
