Warnock will have his work cut out to sort out the current issues at the Cardiff City Stadium but he does thrive on these situations as he proved last season by miraculously steering Rotherham clear of the drop.
The 67-year-old said in an interview last week: “If I win promotion with Cardiff this season, I won’t sail across Cardiff bay, I’ll walk across it.”
That statement only emphasises the size of the task Warnock has on his hands if he wants to get Cardiff playing top-flight football next season.
The Bluebirds need to get out of trouble before they can even begin dreaming about the possibilities and there’s no guarantee that will even happen just yet.
