The South Korea international has found his groove in his second season at Tottenham Hotspur.

Back in the summer much was made of Tottenham Hotspur’s failure to sign an additional striker, with only Vincent Janssen strengthening a forward line that was previously made up of just Harry Kane.
Even with the Dutchman joining Kane at White Hart Lane, Tottenham fans and pundits alike felt Spurs did not have enough in forward areas and would continue to be overly reliant on the England international.

Kane’s poor showings for England at Euro 2016 and subsequent injury could have laid bare Tottenham’s problems, but even with Janssen struggling to replicate the form that earned his move to London, Spurs are doing brilliantly.
That is in no small part due to Heung-Min Son, who has stepped out of the shadows to become a vital player for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, scoring five goals in just six appearances this season including four in the Premier League.

When Son first arrived at Tottenham, Bundesliga observers felt they had bagged a bargain, and while he took time to settle in England, one wonders if Pochettino’s reluctance to sign two new strikers this summer was due to his belief in the South Korea international.
After all, Son has scored regularly wherever he has played, so perhaps the patience shown in Son should also find its way to Janssen, who could well come good in time.
