Like Marcus Antonsson, Pawel Cibicki has struggled to make an impact at Leeds United after moving from Sweden.

Leeds United might have scored just one goal in a run of three straight Championship defeats but Pawel Cibicki has still not been handed a chance to impress by manager Thomas Christiansen.
The 23-year-old striker arrived at Elland Road with a stellar reputation from Swedish giants Malmo in August but, so far, his only action in Leeds colours was during the dramatic EFL Cup victory over Burnley last month.
And despite Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s goals drying up and Caleb Ekuban yet to return from an injury that has kept him on the sidelines since August, the only other senior striker in Leeds’ ranks remains conspicuous by his absence. Cibicki, therefore, may be concerned that he is suffering the same fate as his compatriot, one Marcus Antonsson.

Like Cibicki, fellow Swede Antonsson moved to West Yorkshire after building up a stellar reputation in the Allsvenskan but, despite a bright start to life in English football, quickly fell out of favour under manager Garry Monk.
Antonsson didn’t make a single Championship start from October until the end of the season and was frozen out completely after a humiliating FA Cup defeat to non-league Sutton United in January.

These days, Antonsson is attempting to rebuild his reputation on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the third tier. But with just three goals to his name so far, it is uncertain whether or not the former Kalmar FF goal-machine has a future at Leeds.
Cibicki, then, doesn’t have to do much to exceed Antonsson’s impact at Elland Road. Though the longer his omission continues, fears will grow that Cibicki is following in the footsteps of the last highly-rated striker to move to Leeds from Sweden.
