Paulo Gazzaniga cost Tottenham Hotspur a reported £2.5 million.

Ask a Tottenham Hotspur fan who Mauricio Pochettino’s best value-for-money signing has been and the answer will almost always be Dele Alli.
Pochettino snapped up the former MK Dons gem for a bargain £5 million. Fast forward four years and the 22-year-old is comfortably worth a nine-figure sum.
And then there’s Eric Dier, who doesn’t quite have an Alli-type pricetag, but he is still worth dramatially more than the £4 million Tottenham paid for him back in 2014.
Overall it’s clear that the Argentine has pulled off quite a few bargain signings, and Paulo Gazzaniga has to be included in that list.
According to ESPN, the Spurs boss paid only £2.5 million for the Argentinne goalkeeper in 2017, and what a deal that looks to be now.
Gazzaniga enhanced his reputation with a brilliant performance last night as Pochettino’s side beat Chelsea in a League Cup semi-final.
It was the latest in a series of fantastic performances from the former Southampton keeper, who hails from the same town as Pochettino in Argentina – Murphy.
The best part is that Gazzaniga has only just turned 27. On the evidence of his form this season, he has the youth and talent to be Tottenham’s long-term successor for Hugo Lloris.
There is every chance that he could be the Lilywhites’ future number one and, considering Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal spent a combined £158 million on their first-choice keepers last summer, it’s difficult to argue that Gazzaniga, for £2.5 million, wouldn’t represent another outstanding signing by Pochettino.
