Jake Bidwell has been a fine signing for Queens Park Rangers – so Leeds United should consider him as they aim to enhance their options at left-back.

Leeds fans celebrate their team's victory during the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Derby County at Elland Road on November 29, 2014 in Leeds, England.

Ask any Leeds United fan which position the club needs to strengthen above all in January and you won’t have to wait too long to hear the word ‘left-back’.

Almost halfway through the Championship season, Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen has still not settled on a first-choice option on the left of his back four.

So most Leeds supporters would surely have been nodding in agreement when former Whites striker turned pundit Noel Whelan highlighted Queens Park Rangers’ Jake Bidwell as the perfect January addition.

When asked on BBC Radio Leeds whether the former Everton youngster would fit in at Elland Road, Whelan concisely replied; “Bidwell, yeah, fantastic player.”

The 24-year-old has emerged as one of the top left-backs in the Championships and has started every one of QPR’s 21 league fixtures so far in 2017/18.

And while the Loftus Road club have struggled this season, sitting 19th in the table, Bidwell has once again been one of their standout players and would provide a natural option to fill Leeds’ problem position.

Though whether a deal to bring Bidwell to West Yorkshire is even possible is another matter. QPR would understandably demand a big fee for one of their star men and owner Andrea Radrizzani has looked a little unwilling to stump up hefty bids since taking control at Leeds.
