Should Newcastle United’s goalkeeper Martin Dubravka be rated more highly?

Newcastle United slipped to a 2-1 defeat at the weekend away to Manchester City, but one of the star performers from that match was goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.
The Magpies remain winless in their opening four Premier League games this season going into the international break, but there are some encouraging signs for manager Rafael Benitez to work with.
Dubravka turned in a brilliant display against Man City, making a number of high-profile saves to keep his side in the contest at the Etihad Stadium.
The 29-year-old has been a rock since he joined the North East club back in January on loan, before making his move to St James’ Park permanent in the summer.
There is definitely a case to suggest that the Slovakia international is now one of the most underrated goalkeepers in the Premier League and perhaps he should be talked about in the top bracket.

Dubravka has proven that he is an excellent shot-stopper, with his triple save at the weekend against Man City highlighting that and the composure he showed in commanding his penalty area.
He provides a safe pair of gloves in-between the sticks for Newcastle and has made a seamless transition to the Premier League.
The English top flight is blessed with several top goalkeepers in the shape of David De Gea, Hugo Lloris, Alisson, Petr Cech and Ederson.
But the consistency of Newcastle’s Dubravka could put him in the second band of goalkeepers alongside the likes of Jordan Pickford, Kasper Schmeichel and Rui Patricio.
