Kieran Trippier’s injury could hand an early chance to Serge Aurier at Tottenham.

Serge Aurier could get a baptism of fire for Tottenham Hotspur by going straight into their starting line up this weekend.

This is due to Kieran Trippier’s uncertain status after he was pulled out of the England squad with injury.

Premier Injuries report Trippier has a 50 per cent chance of featuring for Spurs this weekend and is currently being assessed by the club’s medical team for an ‘ankle/foot injury’.

Trippier missed Tottenham’s opening game of the season against Newcastle with an ankle injury which saw Kyle Walker-Peters step up impressively.

Tottenham face Everton this weekend in a tough encounter at Goodison Park.

Serge Aurier has not played yet this season at club level having been overlooked by PSG, but did play earlier this week at international level for Ivory Coast.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino will be deliberating Tottenham’s options ahead of the fixture, and Trippier’s uncertain status gives Aurier and early opportunity to make his debut.
